Spanish Course for Teachers (Methodology Refresher and New Technologies in the Classroom) at Alhambra Instituto in Malaga is the result of all tens of thousands of hours teaching Spanish to foreing students, teaching teachers, writing courses, guiding, reading, studying, and testing ideas with the new technologies.
In Spain, Spanish teacher training and teacher preparation programs exist in every Spanish school in every city, as well as in various forms and degree. Programs like Alhambra Instituto's Spanish Course for Teachers are very different than regular programs of similar name.
This Spanish Course for Teachers is intended not only to teachers but also to students who will be teachers in the future.

The Spanish for teachers Course consist in 5 lessons daily divided in 2 modules: a) module of refresh Methodology for teaching Spanish from 9:00 to 11:00 and b) module of New Technologies applied to the classroom: we will share reviews of educational technology resources you can use in your classroom, from 11:20 to 14:00.
a) Methodology: At Alhambra Instituto we study the way teachers can focus the teaching of the Spanish language in the classroom in such a way that students can communicate in Spanish in a conscious way, taking into account their real experiences. We will focus in the Communicative Approach as a combination of different methods of teaching the Spanish language, and also the role of the teacher and the students in a communicative Spanish lesson as a Second Language.
During the course we aim to teach participants using a methodology which is suitable for teachers of Spanish to adopt in their own classroom settings and which takes into account different learner styles. It is a highly practical course which strives to equip teachers with creative ideas and to develop their knowledge of teching Spanish. Participants will receive up-to-date training in current communicative Spanish teaching techniques and materials. They will leave with a bank of resources which can be implemented in their own teaching situations.
b)Technologies applied to the classroom: Participants will explore tools such as blogs, social bookmarking, asynchronous text and audio discussions, multimedia sharing sites, and videopodcasts. Participants will learn how to integrate these tools into their instruction and assessment in support of key curricular goals. They will also be expected to complete and submit a final product consisting of a lesson plan that incorporates at least four of the Web 2.0 tools introduced in the course.
In this module we will work with Moodle as platform, and popular Moodle modules (like blog, wikis, quiz, hot potatoes quiz, lessons) and will enable teacher trainees to familiarize themselves with online tools.
Objectives: During this course, participants will learn skills and strategies to:
• Understand how Web 2.0 tools can support Spanish language instruction;
• Use technology to improve students' communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing;
• Presentation Tools: Powerpoint, Captivate, Smart Notebook, Google Docs.
• Video Tools: camera, camcorder, smartphones as vidocamara,
• Multimedia uses:videos, podcasts, blogging, media sharing, quizzes.
• Community Tools: from wikis to social networks, this range of tools enables teachers and students to communicate, collaborate and share work.
• Engage with other learning communities at both the local and international level;
• Use technology to foster student exploration of other cultures and to make comparisons between cultures;
• Identify resources to build connections with other content areas; and
• Ensure that students use the Internet safely and responsibly.
Sometimes the technology resources that world language teachers have at their disposal seem more like a magic carpet or a magic wand, capable of transforming teaching and curriculum in ways that would have unimaginable a decade ago. But technology is just a tool: the skilled teacher, like the skilled craftsman, matches the tool to the task in order to accomplish an important purpose. At the same time as we consider our own uses of technology, we need to focus on our students and their need to use technology effectively. Technology, especially the Internet, can provide access to authentic sources of language that are simply unavailable any other way. When we integrate technology meaningfully, we are supporting them in the development of two essential tools for lifelong learning: skill in the use of another language and the ability to make discerning and effective use of technological tools.

Flamenco course Spanish language classes. Just like the language, the dance is a very important form of communication. Spain, especially Andalusia, the birthplace of Flamenco, plays a leading role in the international scene. For many years, the Alhambra Instituto has offered its students the opportunity to participate in Flamenco classes.
Having spent almost 6 years of my life in Spain, it seems to me more than necessary to express my opinion about the beautiful and colorful Malaga, especially now that the summer holidays are just around the corner. Malaga" capital "of Andalusia, in constant battle for No. 1 with Sevilla, welcomes its visitors particularly through the airport, Pablo Ruiz Picasso, but for those who wish to travel by car, there is a highway (a free highway), the N340, that leads from Barcelona along the coast to Malaga and on to Portugal ...
The Feria de Malaga (August 12 to 21) has ancient roots. It was first celebrated in 1491 to mark the entrance of the city into the territories of the kingdom of Castile. Popularly known as Gran Fiesta del Verano (large party of the summer), it is an unusual mix of sincere religiosity manifested by votive processions, and especially by bullfights - and of paganism, as exemplified by the wonderful flamenco shows. The celebration rages across the city with all kinds of events, eating and drinking.
Malaga's beaches are situated very close to the city with all its shops, bars and restaurants. They extend over 14 kilometers, which is surpassed only by the length of the beaches of places like Marbella and Estepona, and are easy to reach, both by public transport or private vehicle. Separated from the noisy city traffic, the beaches with their beautiful promenades are oases of peace and relaxation. Malaga offers a unique combination of sights, museums, restaurants and cultural facilities and the opportunity to just take a stroll along our beaches or enjoy the sun. Visit attractions such as the Picasso Museum, with the brilliant work of the artist, the Alcazaba-Gibralforo fortress complex or the Roman Theater, or simply relax at one of our beaches.
